Sign of Hard Times? Stock Image People Looking Increasingly More Stressed Out

As further evidence that many Americans are going through hard times, researchers at the University of Nebraska discovered a startling new trend of stock image people looking increasingly more stressed out.

“We don’t exactly know what’s causing this,” Professor Suzanne Schenck said. “It could be the threat of global war, with the conflicts in Israel and Ukraine still going on. It could be because of an impending recession. Or it could just be because people are still upset McDonald’s hasn’t brought back the Grimace Shake. We’re looking into all possible explanations for this trend.”

While it’s not yet known how this trend will affect average Americans, meme creators are reportedly panicking over the lack of diverse, absurd images available to create their content.

“The vibes are off, man,” said X user @MemeLord420. “We can’t create dank memes with all these stupid, sad people. They need to get a life and stop crying over their bills.”

At publishing time, Shutterstock politely asked its users to stop uploading pictures of people committing suicide.
