Gay Community Confused By Weird Looking Pride Flag Put Up At White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As Pride Month celebrations kick off across the world, many members of the LGBTQ+ community in the United States were confused by the American flag hoisted at the White House on Monday, mistaking it for a new Pride flag.

“I don’t remember this being one of our flags,” a gay man said to himself during his morning jog down Pennsylvania Avenue. “I know they just added that little purple circle, but I don’t remember them adding red and white stripes. Maybe they’re for two-spirit people.”

While many LGBTQ+ members don’t recognize the American flag, those who did were outraged and furiously protested the Trump administration for what they claim are “bigoted, homophobic transgressions.”

“This flag DOES NOT represent us,” queer activist and whale impersonator Olivia Julianna posted on X. “In fact, the so-called ‘American flag’ is so offensive and oppressive that we’re partnering with the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission to lead a series of protests on college campuses across the country to advocate for queer rights.”

At press time, many LGBTQ+ individuals reportedly felt even more persecuted when, for the first time in years, America’s corporations and military defense contractors didn’t change their profile pictures to Pride flags.
